"2021 is the year of support for children's and youth reading in Kazakhstan"

Today, the Central Communications Service under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a briefing on the topic: "2021 is the Year of support for children's and youth reading in Kazakhstan".
The briefing was attended by Vice-Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Daueshov Nurgisa Muratovich, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, head of the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan Munalbayeva Umitkhan Daurenbekovna, writer, zhyrshy, playwright Alimzhanov Bayangali Takanovich, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan Ulugbek Esdaulet, director of the Atyrau regional Scientific and Universal Library Izmukhamedova Sara Salakhatdinovna.
The reason for the announcement of this year "2021 is the Year of support for children's and Youth reading in Kazakhstan" was commented by Vice-Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Daueshov Nurkisa Muratovich.
"The formation of an educated and competitive generation is one of the main principles of our state policy at the present time. In this regard, the head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the fourth meeting of the National Council of Public Trust, held on October 22, 2020, considered the issue of the pace of reading books by children and adolescents. The President drew attention to the state of libraries in this matter and called for directing the efforts of all residents of the country to educate the Kazakh reading generation. As part of this initiative, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan has declared this year "The Year of Support for Children's and Youth Reading," Nurkisa Muratovich said.
According to the Vice-Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, all the above-mentioned works are carried out by the Ministry in order to timely fulfill the instructions of the Head of State.
"The development and prospects of our country are connected with the educated and spiritually developed generation of children and adolescents. In this regard, the modernization of the educational process, including the education of children and adolescents to read, is the main task facing the Ministry of Culture and Sports," the Vice Minister explained.
