Regular Off-site Meeting of the Library Association of Kazakhstan: “Global Perspective and Sustainable Development: The Role of Libraries in Shaping the Future”
     As part of the off-site meeting held at the Magzhan Zhumabayev Akmola Regional Universal Scientific Library, Askat Kusayinovich Baiuzakov, Director of the National State Book Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan, delivered a presentation on the draft Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Library and Publishing Activities.”
     During the presentation, he outlined the importance of adopting the draft law, its key objectives, and the priority areas for the development of library and publishing activities. Special attention was given to promoting a reading culture, preserving the national book heritage, and advancing the digital transformation of the sector.
     The participants exchanged views on the draft law and put forward a number of important proposals aimed at ensuring the sustainable development of the library sector.
