ISBN assignment is the process of registration and allocation of an International Standard Book Number to printed and electronic publications.
The ISBN (International Standard Book Number) is a unique identifier used for the accounting, distribution, and systematization of publishing products at national and international levels.

Search ISBN  is an electronic service designed to verify and search for registered International Standard Book Numbers (ISBNs) assigned to publications in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The service provides information about a publication based on its ISBN, including the title, author, publisher, year of publication, and other bibliographic details. The search is carried out through the electronic database of the National State Book Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 ISBN numbers issued in print format are International Standard Book Numbers that were previously issued to publishers or authors in printed form before the introduction of the electronic registration system.
These numbers were registered by the National State Book Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan and were used for the identification and accounting of printed publications. Information on such ISBNs may be stored in archival and electronic databases of the Book Chamber and used to confirm registration and for bibliographic recordkeeping.
