Reference and Search Department
The department is a structural unit of the National State Book Chamber and carries out bibliographic reference and search activities within the Print Archive.
The main task of the department is the systematization, accounting, and ensuring accessibility of information on books and other printed materials. For this purpose, the department maintains and updates card indexes and catalogues, prepares bibliographic indexes, and carries out classification and processing of materials in accordance with established methodological requirements.
The department provides bibliographic, thematic, and other reference information upon requests from government authorities, publishing houses, research organizations, and individuals. It also develops and maintains electronic databases and works with information systems.
The activities of the department are aimed at the development of national bibliography and ensuring the completeness and reliability of data in the field of publishing and information support of the book industry.
