
An online seminar on copyright was held today, organized by the National State Book Chamber of the Committee for Archival Affairs and Documentation Management of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kazakhstan Association of Publishers, Printers and Book Distributors, with the participation of specialists of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Institute of Intellectual Property, publishers and Authors subordinate to this Ministry.
The main purpose of the Online seminar is to discuss topical issues and improve the legal literacy of employees of leading institutions in the field of publishing, organizing a direct meeting of representatives of the National Institute of Intellectual Property and publishing houses of Kazakhstan as members of the Association of Publishers, Printers and Book Distributors on key issues of the decision of the Republic of Kazakhstan on copyright and related rights in the field of publishing.
The event was attended by representatives of the country's leading publishing houses, head of the copyright Department of the National Institute of Intellectual Property Raushan Avvalova, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan Mereke Kulkenov, Vice-President of the Kazakhstan Association of Publishers, Printers and Book Distributors Almaz Shaiken and representatives of the mass media. About 50 people took part in the online seminar, asked dozens of personal questions, raised several questions.
During the meeting, the authors and publishers asked their questions to representatives of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan and subordinate institutions, and also discussed a number of topical issues.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to systematically hold this online seminar within a certain time frame and work clearly on the issues discussed.
